Saving of solar energy to be used at night is possible!!!

Solar Energy Saving

The biggest issue with solar power is that it relies on sunshine. At night and on cloudy days, solar panels and thermal plants can't capture as much sun or heat, which means they generate less electricity. This can be inconvenient, especially at night when we need the most power!

There are some of the exciting ways; scientists around the world are working to store solar energy. As these technologies advance and become more affordable, solar power will become an even more reliable and attractive option for Pakistan's future energy needs!

·  Battery Banks: This is the most mature and widely used method for storing solar energy on a smaller scale (homes, businesses). Technology is constantly improving, making them more efficient and affordable.

·  Solar Heat Banks (Molten Salt): This technology has been successfully demonstrated in large-scale solar thermal power plants. While not as common as batteries, it's a proven method for storing solar heat for electricity generation.

·  Pumped Hydro Storage: This is a well-established technology for storing energy, not just solar. It's highly efficient and cost-effective, but requires specific geographical features (reservoirs at different elevations) for implementation.

·  Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES): Several CAES pilot plants are operational worldwide, but the technology is still under development for large-scale solar energy storage

This image shows a conceptual design for a small-scale CAES system suitable for domestic use. A sleek tank sits beside rooftop solar panels, connected to a unit housing the compressor and a domestic-scale turbine.

·  Hydrogen Gas Production: Electrolysis (splitting water with electricity) is a proven technology, but storing and efficiently using hydrogen gas for electricity generation is still being researched and developed.

·  Electric Vehicle Battery Storage: While not a dedicated storage solution, using electric vehicle batteries as a grid resource is a promising concept currently being explored in pilot programs. Home System Integration
